YOUR WARDROBE FORECAST — THIS WEEK
Current conditions: mild panic. A cold front of “wait, are skinny jeans actually over” moved through the closet six days ago and hasn’t left.
I want it on record that I resisted this. I own a whole drawer of skinny jeans I paid real money for, and some part of me was prepared to defend them until I was carried out of this apartment. Then I saw the campaign for the new loose-fit denim push — they’d tapped Rosé for it, of all people, building the whole thing around a “keep it loose” idea — and something in my brain just conceded. Instantly. No fight.
Extended outlook: baggier through the leg, higher at the waist, and — this is the part that actually got me — a sweater vest back in rotation, plus a midi skirt with a slit I’ve already mentally paired with three things I own.
Here’s my one real complaint, and it’s small: I tried the loose straight-leg in my usual size and it was wrong, in the good way — the “you’ve been buying the wrong silhouette for four years” way, not the “return this immediately” way. Sized down half a size in the end. If you’re making this switch too, try before you commit to a size, because loose-fit denim lies to you about your own measurements in a way skinny jeans never did.
Chance of regret: low, surprisingly. There’s a heritage selvedge line if you want to go further into it than I did, and I noticed they do tailoring and repair too, which matters more to me now than it did five years ago, when I’d just throw out jeans the second they got a hole.
Where to actually look: here’s the new-arrivals page I was living in this week — small disclosure, affiliate link, tiny commission for me, nothing extra for you.
Tomorrow’s forecast: me, texting my sister that skinny jeans are dead to me now, then wearing skinny jeans on Thursday anyway, because old habits have a longer half-life than trend cycles.
