I don’t normally review a tote like it’s a restaurant, but this bag has been open for business, every single day, for over a year now, and it’s earned a proper write-up. Reviews below are real, from people I actually am, at different points in the week.
★★★★★ Monday-Morning Me
Came in stressed, left satisfied. Laptop went in one side, the Value Set pouch went in the other, and for once I wasn’t digging around for my keys in front of the elevator like a raccoon going through a garbage can. Would come back. Do come back. Every day.
★★★ Weekend Me
Slightly too capable for its own good. I packed it for a two-day trip and it swallowed a phone charger, a paperback, and an entire second pair of shoes without complaint, which meant I had zero reason not to overpack. Docking two stars for enabling my worst instincts. The interior pocket for the passport is genuinely great, though.
★★★★★ My Nephew, Age 6, Reviewing Nothing In Particular
“It has a little owl on it.” He is referring to the free charm that came with it. He has renamed the bag Owlbert. I did not correct him. Owlbert now has a seat at dinner if he wants one.
★★ Me at Airport Security
Front pocket fits a phone perfectly, which is great, except when you’re the person in front of you trying to find your boarding pass and it is, once again, in that exact pocket, under the phone. User error. The bag did nothing wrong.
★★★★★ Me, Just Now, Writing This
Full disclosure: Bellroy currently has Value Sets bundled at up to 20% off, which is the same deal I used to get this exact setup, and the free charm situation is apparently still running too — mine’s a little owl, yours might be something else, but either way, Owlbert would want you to know.
Overall: Not flashy. No logo screaming from across the room. Just the bag I reach for without thinking, which after a year is the highest compliment I’ve got.
